Importance of carefully worded contracts and how they are understood

The importance of carefully worded insurance contracts and how they are understood by the broker and adhered too by the insured is non more so demonstrated in a recent case of Wheeldon Brothers v Millennium Insurance where the judge ruled that insurers were bound by the terms of their contract to pay the claim after rejecting their argument that the waste materials that caused the fire were required to be “placed (kept)” 6m away from the machinery, on the grounds that the term “storage” implied a meaning of permanence or would otherwise “mean that any piece of waste placed less than 6m from the plant and machinery, no matter how small and no matter how it got there or how long it remained, would negate the insurance altogether”
